Convection Toaster Ovens

If you are in the market for convection toaster ovens, there are several things that you will need to keep in mind. First, you can choose between a commercial ovens or residential ovens. For the most part, individuals and families will want the residential models, as these are easier to set up and store when they are not in use. However, commercial models have a lot of features that are appealing, even for those who want one in their home.

Commercial model convection toaster ovens are much larger than residential models, ranging from being the same size as a standard oven to being a full sized conveyor belt model designed to handle several pizzas at one time. Commercial models tend to cost anywhere between one thousand to several thousand dollars, and draw a lot more energy than residential models. These are typically only used at businesses, offices and professional places.

Residential models of convection toaster ovens typically range from 1000 watts to over 1500 watts. These models include many features, such as adjustable temperatures, timers, and panels to view the food you are cooking. Advanced models allow you to adjust the fan speed of the convection oven, which can drastically alter how quickly the food cooks. These models all fit on top of counter tops, and can be stored when not in use.

If you have not used convection toaster ovens before, you will need to learn how to adjust your recipes to work with convection ovens. Convection ovens do two things. First, they lower the amount of time that it takes for food to fully cook. Second, it may require a lower cooking temperature to cook your foods properly. Both of these things are affected by the foods you are cooking. For example, turkey cooks for roughly the same amount of time as in a standard oven, occasionally shorter depending on the size of the turkey versus the size of the convection oven. However, turkey is typically cooked at a lower temperature. The benefit to this is that the turkey comes out of the convection oven suffering less shrinkage than in a standard oven. In addition to this, the meat tends to be extra moist. Baked goods, such as breads, pastries and pies, tend to cook between ten and twenty percent faster than in a standard oven, and may be cooked at a lower temperature, depending on what it is you are baking.
